In connection with the smuggling of people, federal police officers searched apartments and business premises in the Saarbrücken area on Wednesday.
According to the police, a total of 121 officers took part in the search at twelve locations.
At the center of the investigation, which has been ongoing since February, are ten suspects who are said to have smuggled mainly Syrian nationals into Germany for money.
Frankfurt am Main / Saarbrücken - Numerous pieces of evidence were found during the searches.
According to the information, around 92 people are said to have been brought into the country using rental cars.
The police pointed out in their message that the smuggling was carried out under sometimes life-threatening circumstances.
It was said that people sometimes traveled in the loading area of small vans.
The starting points were therefore mainly the Czech Republic and Austria.
