2021-10-20T19:28:28.399Z

The media man surprisingly announced on his Twitter account that he is taking a break from Channel 20 and the world of media in general: "Sometimes a person has to take a break and watch" • Riklin presented the "Riklin & Co." program on Channel 20

"Sometimes a person has to take a break and watch," media man Shimon Riklin wrote today (Wednesday) on his Twitter account.

Ricklin, who presents a show on Channel 20, decided to take a break from his job and the media in general in order to "check with myself if I'm in the right place, because I'm not sure," he wrote in one of the comments to the tweet.

At the beginning of 2018, he was ranked by Globes in 22nd place on the list of 50 most influential journalists in Israel for 2017. And ahead of the 21st Knesset elections in 2019, Riklin was nominated for armor in 28th place on the Likud list, a place that could finally be represented by the Jewish House.

Sometimes a person needs to go out for a break and observe.

And check if what he is doing is right for him and constitutes meaningful doing for him.

That's why I'm going on vacation from my program and the media in general.

And here too I will try to reduce attendance and deal with other issues.

Thanks to Channel 20 for everything and all my dear viewers.

Riklin also wrote in his surprising statement on Twitter: "Sometimes a person has to check if what he is doing is right for him and constitutes significant doing for him, so I go on vacation from my program and from the media in general."

Riklin also plans to downshift from Twitter: "Here, too, I will try to reduce attendance and deal with other issues."

In August 2018, he began presenting with the journalist Erel Segal the program "Riklin & Segal" on Channel 20. After Segal retired from the channel, Yinon Magal joined the program and renamed it "Riklin & Magal".

In 2019, his partner in the program, Yinon Magal, directed the "Patriots" program, which returned to air, following which Shimon Riklin remained in the broadcast box to direct the program with alternate presenters, hence its name since then "Riklin & Co."

Outside of the media world, Riklin initiated real estate projects, and in addition he owned the "Beer Miriam" celebration hall in the Sha'ar Binyamin industrial zone.

The media man signed his message: "Thank you to Channel 20 for everything and all my dear viewers."
