The storm warning applies from 4 a.m. to 6 p.m. in the Ilm district, in the districts of Gotha, Hildburghausen, Saalfeld-Rudolstadt, Schmalkalden-Meiningen and Sonneberg as well as in the city of Suhl and generally in locations over 800 meters.
Erfurt / Leipzig - Across the country, showers like rain and local thunderstorms are to be expected from time to time.
According to the information on Wednesday, people in Thuringia should watch out for possible dangers such as falling branches and roof tiles and close their windows and doors.
The DWD also recommends keeping a distance to buildings, trees, scaffolding and high-voltage lines.
