Berlin - Because of the suspicion of the formation of a right-wing extremist association, investigators have taken action nationwide against alleged members of a group called "Berserker Clan". On Wednesday there were searches in Berlin, Schleswig-Holstein, Baden-Württemberg and Hesse, as the authorities announced. The Public Prosecutor's Office and the State Criminal Police Office in Berlin are investigating 15 men and women with German citizenship. Under his leadership, the suspects, who are 26 to 55 years old, are said to have come together in a right-wing extremist organization called the "Berserker Clan".
They are accused of being ringleaders or being a member of a criminal organization.
During the searches in 14 places, weapons and ammunition were seized, it said.
According to a spokesman for the Berlin Public Prosecutor's Office, no arrests were made on Wednesday.
According to the authorities, the preparation for a "day X" played a role in the communication between the suspects again and again.
This should mean an armed uprising against the existing structures in Germany.
According to the attorney general, the investigation has been going on for a year.
The spokesman for the German Press Agency announced that the basis was the reference made by a witness.
"The surveillance measures carried out were based on a judicial decision," it said.
The searches were specifically carried out in Berlin, Wiesbaden and Esslingen and several places in Schleswig-Holstein (Elmshorn, Brunsbüttel, Marne, Barmstedt, Hadenfeld and Windbergen).
Firearms, alarm weapons, ammunition, cutting and stabbing weapons, data carriers, devotional objects of the association as well as narcotics and doping agents were confiscated, it said.
For the time being, no information can be given on the exact quantities.
The seized objects should now be evaluated and forensically examined in the course of the investigation.
