Syria calls for an end to the violations of the Israeli occupation against the people of the Golan

Syria renewed its call on the UN Security Council to assume its responsibilities and pressure the Israeli occupation to stop its violations and illegal practices against the people of the occupied Syrian Golan, stressing that the Golan will inevitably return to the homeland for a long time or a short time and that all the measures taken by the occupation are null and void and have no legal effect.

Sabbagh pointed out that the crime of the occupation assassinating the Syrian fighter Medhat Al-Saleh last Saturday by targeting him with gunshots from inside the occupied Golan while returning to his home in the town of Ain Al-Tineh, opposite the occupied town of Majdal Shams, represents a flagrant violation of the 1974 Separation of Forces Agreement and United Nations resolutions related to the occupied Syrian Golan. In addition to this, the hostile statements of the Prime Minister of the Israeli occupation entity about increasing settlements through the establishment of seven thousand settlement units on the land of the Golan with the aim of increasing the number of settlers from 40 to 100 thousand as part of his attempt to change the demographic character of the occupied Syrian Golan and to consolidate and prolong the occupation through the establishment of more settlement plans on the Golan.

Sabbagh indicated that the Israeli occupation forces stormed the village of Majdal Shams in the Golan and arrested one of its sons from his house against the background of our people in the village of Masada organizing a protest to reject the occupation's settlement plans on their land, including the establishment of "wind turbines" on an area of ​​approximately six thousand dunums of the lands of Majdal Shams And appointed Qunia, Boqatha and Masada.

Sabbagh said that while Syria condemns in the strongest terms all these crimes, aggressive practices and provocative statements, it affirms that all of this will not change the established fact that the Golan was and will remain Arab and Syrian and that it will inevitably return to the homeland, long or short, and that all measures taken by the Israeli occupation authorities are invalid. Sabbagh stressed the need not to remain silent about the war crimes and crimes against humanity that Israel continues to commit in the occupied Palestinian territories, in particular the acts of annexation, settlement, siege, house seizure and demolition, forced displacement of Palestinians, practices of arbitrary detention and racial discrimination against them, calling for pressure on Israel to stop its criminal practices. the right of the Palestinian people, and holds the countries that support “Israel” responsible and the consequences of the continuation of these crimes and their impunity.
