Residents of Bergstrasse and Badfeldring have requested 30 km / h for this area.

The municipal council refused - for the second time.

Landsberied - "A few stupid drivers" are said to be who would endanger the "safety of our children and grandchildren" by driving too fast - this is how the residents justified their request.

They had also collected signatures.

Five years ago they had already applied for a 30 km / h speed zone in the east of Landsberied.

That would be legally possible. But the local council saw no need for action at the time.

This time it wasn't quite that clear.

Bernhard Förg (FW / Einigkeit), who was already on the committee at the time, said: “For me, the Badfeldring is a purely residential street.

The traffic is not so big that you have to do something. ”Above all, you would then have to declare the whole of Landsberied to be a 30 zone, he argued.

Vice-Mayor Hubert Ficker (CSU / WDG) saw it similarly: "If you decide to set up 30 wherever possible, then you have to do it consistently."

Green for it

Tempo 30 everywhere, the Greens think that's not bad, and have often suggested certain spots in the village for this, even if nothing came of it.

Hans Märkl (Greens) was basically in favor of the application.

If you reject it now, the subject will catch up with you again in a few years.

"It would certainly serve traffic safety," said Helmut Hoffmann (FW / unity).

Michael Hillmeier (CSU / WDG) suggested an intermediate step, who has already fought for Tempo 30 - with success.

Because the speed was limited in the main street.

He suggested setting up speed measuring devices on Badfeldring and Bergstrasse first: "Is that just a feeling or does it confirm that everyone is racing?"

Mayor Andrea Schweitzer (FW / Einigkeit) feared that other residents would then also demand speed measurements in their streets.

"And what do we do then?" Hillmeier doubted that, but said: "I would come across here and say we take it seriously."

In Hillmeier's compromise proposal, however, there was a stalemate of 6: 6 votes, so it was rejected.

Just like the demands of the local residents.

Only the Greens and Helmut Hoffmann endorsed the designation of the 30 km / h zone.
