According to an FBI spokesman, the residence the agency raided Tuesday is the home of Russian millionaire Oleg Deripaska, an ally of President Vladimir Putin.
The agency is conducting "law enforcement activity" in connection with a federal investigation in New York.
Deripaska was sanctioned by the United States in 2018 in response to Russian interference in the 2016 elections.
