The state government has given the go-ahead for Christmas markets.

In the Freising district, the organizers have their hands full until the first Advent.

District

- One cancellation after the other came around this time last year: Due to the pandemic, no Christmas markets could take place in the Freising district.

After the 2020 break, Minister of Economic Affairs Hubert Aiwanger and Minister of Health Klaus Holetschek have now agreed on a concept after the pre-Christmas booth magic is possible again this winter - without major restrictions due to 3G and mask requirements, fencing of the market area and alcohol ban.

The organizers are very happy - and time is of the essence.

(By the way: Everything from the region is now also available in our regular Ebersberg newsletter.)

"We are challenged a little more"

“We are planning our Advent market for the first weekend in Advent,” reports Florian Wildmoser from the parish of St. Lantpert.

On three days, from November 26th to 28th, around 15 stands will be set up in the Lerchenfeld parish.

Two thirds of the booth feeders are community members, one third comes from outside.

"Since our store is purely voluntary, we are challenged a little more because of the specific Corona requirements," admits Wildmoser.

"But as long as the effort remains manageable, that's not a problem." Everyone involved was positive.

"It's nice that there can be something again."

Charitable Christmas market in one day

Manuela Paparizos, chairwoman of the Active City, which, together with the Rotary and Lions Club, organizes the charitable Christmas market on Freising's Marienplatz every year, sees it similarly.

"We are very happy, we are confident that we can do it." It has been clear since Friday that the market can be held again this year, on the third Saturday in Advent (December 11th).

Because the planning could only be started relatively late and therefore one or the other stand operator was already planned for something else, this time the event will take place in a slimmed-down form.

"But it should still come very close to what the Freising people are used to from their charitable market," emphasizes Paparizos.

Altstadt-Christkindlmarkt wants to start on November 25th

And another traditional event in the cathedral city is to take place again in 2021: We are talking about the old town Christmas market on Christopher-Paudiß-Platz from November 25th to December 23rd.

"The planning is in progress," reports organizer Robert Schmidt.

The whole thing is still subject to change, however, because the city and district office still have to approve the applications.

"Actually, there shouldn't be any more objections."

Moosburger Budenzauber on four days

The Moosburger Christkindlmarkt takes place on the second and third weekend in Advent, i.e. 4th / 5th.

and 11./12.

December, with a hobby artist exhibition, sales booths and a stage for the supporting program in and around the Zehentstadel.

"Actually, we do everything the same as before Corona," says city marketing manager Thomas David.

Nandlstadt sets up stands at the Hopfenhalle

There is also good news for the people of Nandlstadt: In the market town there will be another Christmas market on the second Advent this year - but not around the parish church of St. Martin as usual, but at the new Hopfenhalle location.

There you can keep more distance due to the larger area, and the supply of electricity, water and toilets is better.

Even the price of mulled wine is already fixed: a single cup costs 2.50 euros.

On the circular route, stalls selling handicrafts and co. Should alternate with food stalls, and musical contributions should not be neglected either.

Advent hustle and bustle should be straightened out in Eching and Neufahrn

In Eching, the pre-Christmas booth magic is planned on the Bürgerplatz, this year for the first time in front of the new town hall.

However, it has not yet been finally clarified whether the market, which normally takes place on the second weekend in Advent, will possibly be extended to another weekend.

In the neighboring community of Neufahrn, they also want to straighten out the hustle and bustle of Advent: Unlike what was stipulated in a resolution from 2016, the events around the 20 wooden stalls on the market square will exceptionally last not just one but three days this year: The We are talking about the first weekend in Advent, November 26th to 28th.

There is a small supporting program on each of the three days, especially for children on Sunday.
