: Popular travel destination opens borders for tourists from Europe - but by no means for everyone.
The entry ban for Europeans has been in place since March 2020.
Since then, only US citizens, people with a green card and their family members and business travelers have been allowed to travel to the USA.
There was no easing, even in June, when Europe reopened its borders to US citizens - even though many EU states were better off than the USA when it came to the infection situation.
In any case, the interest in a vacation in the USA seems to be great: Shortly after the announcement in September that the entry rules were to be relaxed, booking portals recorded a rapid increase in searches for travel destinations in the United States.
