In mid-November the four tinkerers from “Bockerl fahr zua!” Bring the 40 meters of their home town Holledau in miniature format to the “Intermodellbau” trade fair.

The first trailer is already loaded!

A second and a “sprinter” will soon be on their way.

The

four-member team of "Bockerl driving zua"

travels

to Dortmund

, where from

17th bis 20th November

the "Intermodellbau" takes place.

Almost 90,000 visitors will then get to

know

the

Hallertau

.

In miniature.

In detail.

And made with a lot of love!

What makes the

inventors Manfred Lohr, Günter Schreiner, Bernhard Steinhauser and Reinhard Altmann

particularly proud: They were invited to take part - a success from their first appearance in Dortmund's Westfalenhalle in 2017. Manfred Lohr, whom everyone calls “boss” with a smile and awe , has assigned the tasks for this major appearance, because nobody steps on the spot at “Bockerl fahr zua!”.

The Au and Wolnzach train stations have been completely revised and "made suitable for trade fairs", as Schreiner put it.

Meticulous work is done here - and a lot is invested: The quartet acquired around 40 aerial photos from the 50s, 60s and 70s and adheres meticulously to the facts of history.

The work is just as true to scale as it is original, because the red buttons on the individual modules are a special gimmick.

Press it and wait to see what happens: Sometimes the door of the quiet village opens, sometimes a VW bus wobbles suspiciously ... Steinhauser recently remembered that a Lederhosen soft erotic film with Gila von Weitershausen was shot at the Auer train station.

The visitors in the Westfalenhalle will see the scene on the module Auer Bahnhof!

"We have already made high demands on ourselves," says Günter Schreiner.

The fine-tuning has to be carried out meticulously, and the "aging" of vehicles shows how complex this is.

They are bought new and then trimmed to be used.

Manfred Lohr is the specialist for this.

To make a car historic, it takes three hours to airbrush, paint and dry it.

Even longer with the impressive locomotives!

The two dozen deceptively real telegraph poles, which were produced as if on an assembly line, are new.

Prepare the kebab skewer, make a hole with a 0.45 drill, then insert and bend the wire and finally glue the doffer.

“Away from the toy train, where someone puts on a hat and then lets the train go in circles”, Manfred Lohr wants, “authentic and natural-looking designed” the scenery should be, and that's why the hobbyists have been recreating their homeland true to detail for many years.

Almost 40 meters of the route are packed in the three vehicles that are on their way to North Rhine-Westphalia. Over three quarters of it new. And the loading alone is a logistical masterpiece, because the time is ticking on site, because after all, the Bockerl drivers are not the only exhibitors. It is important to think backwards and to stow what is needed first at the very end. These tasks are also part of a successful appearance, just like the modules are now clicked together with an ingenious trick and are thus automatically supplied with power, so that an extra cable does not have to be laid again. In addition to the steady hand, patience and great attention to detail, manual skills are also required to become a veritable "ambassador of Holledau", because that is the claim of the four miniature artists,as Bernhard Steinhauser puts it.
