A woman found dead in Mannheim fell victim to an act of violence.
This was the result of a forensic examination, as announced by the public prosecutor and the police on Thursday.
Officials found the 41-year-old woman dead in her apartment in an apartment building two days earlier.
Shortly before, an acquaintance of the victim had notified the officials.
Mannheim - "As soon as the person was found, there were indications that they might have been the victim of a violent crime," the police said.
According to the information, the investigators assume that the woman succumbed to her injuries shortly before she was discovered by officials in the Schwetzingerstadt district.
A special commission consisting of 50 women and men is investigating the case.
The officials rely on evidence from witnesses, it was said.
