85 percent of the completion of the rehabilitation works of the expansion joints of the southern corridor

The completion rate of the project of rehabilitating and maintaining the expansion joints of the Southern Highway has reached 85 percent, according to the Director of Supervision in Damascus Governorate, Eng. Hisham Al-Hamwi.

In a statement to SANA’s representative today, Al-Hamwi indicated that this percentage includes the complete project work, as the works of laying an asphalt shirt have been completed and all the old neoprene supports positioned and based on the pillars have been replaced with 917 new ones, in addition to the replacement of 42 new expansion joints out of 59.

Al-Hamwi explained that the works are carried out throughout the day, morning and evening, to complete the project within the contractual period specified for one side of the southern highway coming from Mezzeh towards Damascus International Airport.
