A law firm working for Israel in the UK and supported by dozens of lords, warns the giant that investors will lose faith in it, as Ben & Jerry's decision is inconsistent with Unilever's business code of ethics • Ben & Jerrys' agreement with Unilever, Requires all members of the Board of Directors of Ben & Jerrys to comply with the Code of Ethics of the parent company

UKLFI (UK lawyers for Israel), a UK-based law firm supported by dozens of lords and barons across the kingdom, sent a message to Unilever's global management, Ben & Jerry's parent company, stating that Ben & Jerry's global decision to support the organization BDS and the boycott of the State of Israel, are not in line with Unilever's business code of ethics, and in fact violate the legal agreement. The organization warns that "if the giant's code of ethics is not enforced - investors will lose faith in the company."

The organization calls on Unilever's board of directors to oppose Ben & Jerry's decision to support BDS, and explains that if it does not, investors could lose confidence in the group and withdraw their investments.

Ben & Jerrys' agreement with Unilever requires all members of the Ben & Jerrys Board of Directors to abide by the Company's Code of Ethics.

The Unilever Code of Business Conduct requires all Unilever subsidiaries to comply with the laws and regulations of the countries in which the Unilever Group operates.

Unilever has tried to convince state authorities in Arizona and Illinois that it is not responsible for the conduct of Ben & Jerry's independent committee.

But this did not seem to impress the authorities.

Ben & Jerry's global support for BDS has exposed Unilever to many sanctions and legal actions against it.

Unilever's share fell 11%, and the company lost about £ 12 billion in value. During this period, the share of Unilever's direct rival - Procter & Gamble, remained stable.

In the letter, UKLFI emphasizes that the decision of the global Ben & Jerrys management, in fact, was based on a fundamental legal error - the statement referred to the occupation as illegal.

This contradicts the prevailing perception that Israeli governance in the West Bank (Judea and Samaria) is in itself legal, pending a decision on final status, in accordance with the Oslo Accords.

Jonathan Turner CEO of UKLFI: “We suggest to Unilever management not to disclaim responsibility for its subsidiary.

The company needs to regain control by demanding full compliance with its rules of business conduct. "

The UKLFI Bar Association works for Israel in the UK, and is supported by dozens of Lords and Barons across the kingdom.

The organization works for Israel in international forums and promotes issues related to the struggle to delegitimize Israel.

Among other things, the organization tries to prevent the flow of funds to terrorist organizations and monitors BDS organizations, and works mainly behind the scenes to enforce laws related to funding such activities.
