A lawyer representing the defendant asked the prosecution to provide a closed-circuit television film and a confession from a senior police officer who had been involved in receiving illegal services at the shop that day, but the prosecution refused, and the defense once questioned the prosecution’s intention to conceal it deliberately.

Magistrate Deng Shaoxiong adjourned the case until November 10 for a pre-trial review. At that time, the prosecution must send a copy of the fragment to the defense, and will deal with the relevance of the senior police officer to the charge in this case.

Four defendants: Li Yiqing (36 years old, female, masseuse), Yuan Qiuxiang (34 years old, Vietnamese woman, unemployed), Zhang Mingfang (35 years old, female, masseuse), and Hu Bingxiong (61 years old, unemployed), total He was charged with 6 counts, including managing a prostitution establishment and operating a massage parlor without a valid operating license.

The barrister representing the fourth defendant, Hu Bingxiong, requested a postponement of the pre-trial review, and also asked the prosecution to provide all closed-circuit television footage involved in the case and a statement from a senior police officer involved in receiving illegal services that day.

However, the prosecution stated that the total length of the clips was 7,500 hours, and the police would need at least 4 weeks to prepare the copies, and the defense may not have enough time to view all the clips.

As for the confession of the senior police officer, the prosecution stated that it was involved in an internal disciplinary hearing and had nothing to do with the charges in this case.

Among the 4 defendants, 3 female defendants were each charged with a crime of managing a prostitution establishment, alleging that they managed prostitution on the first floor of Shengyi Building, Johnston Road, Wan Chai between October 2020 and March 19 this year, namely VIET SPA. Li Jiyuan was also charged with managing a massage establishment without a valid license; the only male defendant, Hu Bingxiong, was charged with operating a prostitution establishment at the same place during the same period and operating a massage establishment without a valid license.
