With the 2G regulation, access is only allowed to those who have been vaccinated or recovered, and with 3G also those who tested negative. "Even Christmas markets without access controls should be possible, then - as for example at weekly markets - the mask requirement applies, and as at annual fairs, rides with indoor areas must demand and check the 3G requirements of their customers."
According to the information, upper limits for the number of people do not apply to Christmas markets - as to flea and weekly markets.
"The relatively high vaccination rate and the improved pandemic situation compared to 2020 make it easier to hold the Christmas markets in Berlin this year," said the economic administration.
The subject had already been discussed at the Senate meeting last Tuesday, but nothing had been decided, as Interior Senator Andreas Geisel subsequently announced.
