Manfred Drobny, managing director of the BN district group Erding, was invited to the Moosinningen municipal council meeting and took part in the lively discussion.
Biologist Drobny explained that the Moosinningen nature reserve, which has existed since 1934, was the second oldest in Bavaria and was bought by the BN in 1933. "It is still our property and is looked after as far as possible." The BN is the "advocate of nature", stated Drobny and listed some endangered plant and animal species that live in the nature reserve, such as the blue-headed ant .
One problem is "a clear decline and deterioration of the flora and fauna due to the progressive drainage". Drobny also complained about "regular manipulation at the southern end of the nature reserve with a stop of the water supply". The inlet to the nature reserve has already been blocked a few times with a plate. The renovation of the Isar canal also had a negative impact, "because the stronger sealing has inhibited seepage losses".
One solution might be to transfer water from the Dorfen or the Viertelbach, said Drobny, who emphasized: “The Federal Nature Conservation Association cannot make any stipulations on possible distributions of the water quantities. Whether this is 50:50 is the responsibility of the authorities. ”The BN managing director added:“ The community can be proud to have a piece of Erdinger Moos of such good quality. ”
"We are very proud of our nature reserve," said Moosinnings environmental officer Leo Brenninger (BE) at the beginning of the discussion.
He recalled “that we once received a letter from the BN saying either one hundred percent or nothing.
But if 50:50 is okay with you, then we can go with you. ”As for the manipulation of the watershed,“ that was often the other way around, the plate was placed so that everything went into the nature reserve, ”said Brenninger, of course.
The BN could actually do what it wanted there, "because the building is one hundred percent in our area," emphasized Drobny, but then backed off a little.

Manfred Lex (CSU) appealed to the common sense of the unknown, who repeatedly block one or the other water inlet, and called for the manipulation to stop. "We have to look for a solution so that the nature reserve and the G Fallach survive." The problem is "that there is simply too little water overall," said Richard Döllel, who could still remember a weir with the one many years ago the water inlet and outlet could be controlled. The abutments can still be seen today. "Sooner or later, both arms will dry up," predicted the SPD municipal council. "Many trenches that used to carry water are now dry."
Werner Fleischer (BE) suggested building a structure at the discharge point that was tamper-proof.
Turning to Drobny, the vice-mayor said: "We have been giving each other the buck for years - once the community is to blame, once the nature conservation association." He wished: "In the future we should talk more to each other than about each other."
Mayor Georg Nagler (SPD) summarized that the local council agreed on a 50:50 inflow of water in the nature reserve and Gfungach and added: "I hope that we can keep both areas alive."
