Contrasts in all their facets

Dorfen - The members of the Dorfener Fotoklicke have captured contrasts with the camera.

That was the motto of their current exhibition.

The best pictures of the nine amateur photographers from Isental can be seen in the Dorfen town hall until November 25th.

After that, those interested can buy the recordings for 25 euros.

A life without contrasts is boring, said Regina Kragler. Regardless of whether light and shadow, new or old - opposites certainly attract. “I went through the area and looked at things from this point of view,” said the amateur photographer from Dorfen. Kragler found what she was looking for right behind her house: “There was a delicate flower growing on hard concrete.” A picture that she wanted to capture and that now hangs on the ground floor of the Dorfen town hall.

For Rudi Springer, the subject of the exhibition was not easy: "I often pressed the shutter button and then saw: It just wasn't." But then he still managed a brilliant shot: "I photographed my own shadow." Since it had rained before, he was still wearing a hat and an umbrella under his arm when the sun broke through the clouds.

This contrast can also be seen in the town hall - like another 24.

In any case, Mayor Heinz Grundner was delighted, since the town hall was open to the public again, that the photos of the photo clicks could also find “widespread admiration from the population”.

Contrasts from photography are also referred to as brilliance in the fine arts, explained Grundner at the opening of the exhibition.

"The photos of the photo clicks are of high quality, are brilliant and impressive pictures."

For the 19th time, Fotoklicke is exhibiting its pictures in the town hall.

This time the public vernissage fell into the water due to the corona.

"In the past, there was a large crowd of visitors with a buffet, this year only mineral water for us artists - also a big contrast," said Wolfram Wildner, spokesman for Fotoklicke.

"Sunshine in Regensburg is just as much a contrast as the town sign for Dorfen," joked the photographer.

And yet the images do not contradict each other: "The contrasts need each other and therefore fit together again."

And what doesn't fit can at least be made to fit visually, thought photographer Reinhard Richter.

He crossed the emblems of FC Bayern Munich with those of the Munich Lions.

“Actually an absurdity in Bavaria,” commented Otón Pabst, who played mainly with color contrasts in his photos: “Yellow and blue are complementary colors,” explained the man from Dorfen, whose exhibit shows stacked plastic chairs in different shades of color.

The exhibition can be viewed on Mondays and Wednesdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Tuesdays and Fridays from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. and Thursdays from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
