The CDU and AfD have reacted with criticism to the financial announcements of the left coalition of the SPD and the left planned in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania.
"Although no figures were given yesterday, one thing is already clear: Red-red is mainly expensive," said the chairman of the CDU parliamentary group in the state parliament, Franz-Robert Liskow, on Thursday in Schwerin.
Schwerin - The future state government must save in view of the enormous corona burden, but instead announce "expensive spending plans".
AfD parliamentary group leader Nikolaus Kramer also expressed doubts that the SPD and the Left could manage the balancing act between debt repayments and additional expenditure, for example for education, social affairs or the economy.
“The question is where to save in order to be able to pay repayment installments and implement the expensive election promises,” explained Kramer.

Five days after the state elections in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, the first exploratory discussion between the election winner SPD and the CDU will take place this Friday.
This was confirmed by party circles on Thursday at the request of the German press agency.

The new AfD parliamentary group in the state parliament re-elected its chairman Nikolaus Kramer after a four-hour session.
Kramer's preferred candidate for the post of Parliamentary Managing Director, Thomas de Jesus Fernandes, however, had to admit defeat to MP Thore Stein.
"The majority of the parliamentary group decided differently and of course - as it should be - I support this majority decision," said Kramer on Friday after the election.

In the state elections on Sunday, the CDU achieved its worst result to date in MV with 13.3 percent.
For Prime Minister Schwesig, however, she remains a possible coalition partner.

Prime Minister Manuela Schwesig (SPD) announced on Wednesday after coalition negotiations with the left that she would not incur any new debts in the future and would gradually repay the loans for the 2.8 billion euro corona protection fund. By concentrating on priority areas such as economic development, education and digitization, the aim is to ensure that expenditure remains within limits and is still invested.
Liskow warned the SPD and the Left to use the Corona Protection Fund for purposes other than those intended to finance their wishes.
This fund is not a credit, but a kind of credit line that does not have to be used to the full.
"In the coming years, the CDU parliamentary group will pay close attention to whether the state budget becomes a marshalling yard and the protection fund becomes a shadow budget," Liskow announced.
Saving and budget consolidation are indispensable for a solid financial policy after borrowing in the corona pandemic.
