A 62-year-old cyclist was hit by a broken tree crown in the Wittenberg district on Thursday and was seriously injured.
A helicopter then flew him to a hospital, the police said.
The accident occurred on the southern border of the district near the community of Muldestausee.
The German Weather Service (DWD) warned of gale-force gusts and severe thunderstorms in Saxony-Anhalt on Thursday morning.
Muldestausee / Wittenberg - According to the DWD, wind speeds of up to 100 kilometers per hour were reached across the country on Thursday.
