Winter and its coming low temperatures do not seem to discourage the French in search of a space to bathe.
According to preliminary forecasts from the Federation of Swimming Pool and Spa Professionals (FPP), the sector will experience a sharp increase in activity in 2021. 250,000 swimming pools (approximately 91,000 underground pools and 158,000 above ground) will appear in the gardens , bringing the total number to over 3.2 million.

While the first ten months of 2020 were marked by projects mostly slowed down or even stopped, "
the number of swimming pools built jumped by + 52.5% in the first half of 2021"
compared to the same period. last year, details the FPP in a press release. Sales have gained 55%. The sector's turnover also increased by 55%. An increase deemed
"spectacular"
by the FPP
"which is explained by the slowdown that took place over the same period in 2020 due to the Covid crisis (-2.5%)"
. The turnover of products related to the swimming pool is also experiencing a jump of 48.5%.
However, these exceptionally high results cannot continue to grow and professionals expect
"a return to normal in the coming months"

In fact, quotes only increased by 18.5% in the first half of 2021, suggesting that
"the swimming pool market should resume its cruising speed by continuing with a more moderate increase"

The months of May and June also show a return to more traditional growth with respective increases of 5% and 3% in signed quotes.
In total, over the year as a whole, the change in the number of completed pools should experience growth of + 30% compared to 2020, predicts the FPP, as well as the number of pools sold.
Difficulties in recruiting
But this strong demand is not without consequence and forces all the actors to work
