The objective of the movement is to recover by the end of December a thousand recent devices to equip the most disadvantaged.

Notice to businesses in Ile-de-France that store unused computers, tablets and smartphones: Emmaüs Connect is interested in their cupboards.

The association which has been fighting against digital precariousness since 2013 is launching, in partnership with the city of Paris, the LaCollect.tech operation.

Goal?

Collect by the end of December a thousand recent devices (less than 5 years old), new or second-hand, to allow the poorest to equip themselves and access essential services (access to employment, education, transport, doctors) whose digitization has accelerated with the crisis.

“We are working in partnership with Ateliers sans frontières, a solidarity site which reconditions the collected material.

The computers are then sold in our reception points for 120 euros, whereas they would be worth 600 to 700 euros in stores, ”

explains Alexandre Mico, Emmaus Connect manager in Paris. Businesses wishing to make a donation can register. on lacollecte.tech, or go directly to one of the three reception points whose address is specified on the site.

As for the purchasers, they must first collect a voucher for access to the offers from an association, the employment center or the city services.

Paris is the second reconditioning sector open in France.

The initiative, inaugurated last year in Hauts-de-France and which has made it possible to recover more than 11,000 aircraft, should gradually be extended to the entire territory.
