A good two years after a fatal SUV accident in Berlin with four dead, the driver comes to court.
The trial against the 44-year-old should begin next Wednesday (October 27, 9:30 a.m.) before the Berlin Regional Court, as the press office announced on Thursday.
The indictment accuses the man of negligent homicide and negligent endangerment of road traffic.
Berlin - According to the court, 20 trial days are initially planned until the beginning of February 2022 in order to clarify what happened on September 6, 2019.
The case had caused outrage nationwide.
At the time, the accused's car had left Invalidenstrasse in the city center across the opposite lane.
The car hit a traffic light, killed people on the sidewalk, and broke through a site fence.
A three-year-old boy was among the four fatalities.

According to the court, the driver had swerved before a red light, in front of which several vehicles were waiting, and had accelerated his car sharply.
As a result of an epileptic seizure, he said, he had a cramp, so that with the accelerator pedal depressed, he continued to drive about 80 meters “constantly, fully accelerating, in a straight line”.
Prosecutors are accusing the 44-year-old of driving the heavy car, even though he had structural epilepsy and had brain surgery only about a month ago.
He was able to see that his health was not in a position to drive the vehicle safely.
