Elections in the state parliament: bodies still incomplete

Several important bodies of the Thuringian state parliament are still not fully occupied: Once again, MPs of the AfD failed on Thursday in Erfurt during the plenary session with their candidacies for seats in the G10 Commission and the Parliamentary Control Commission.

The Berlin House of Representatives held 84 plenary sessions and passed 201 laws in the eighteenth legislative term that is coming to an end.

This emerges from statistics published by the parliamentary administration on Friday, which did not contain any comparative figures for previous legislative periods.

Accordingly, in the roughly five years from 2016 until the election last Sunday, the MPs dealt with 4,368 printed matter that came into the parliamentary process.

In the respective ballots between 50 and 54 members voted against the election proposals of the AfD.

At the same time, an election proposal from the left was unsuccessful: the parliamentary group had proposed its deputy Katharina König-Preuss as deputy chairwoman of the committee of inquiry into politically motivated violence.

A total of 35 MPs voted for this proposal, 47 against.
