The two met to talk about insurance.
But when the man met for the second time, he gave beer mixed with sleeping pills to the female agent at the residence.
The broker was unconscious after drinking beer.
When she regained consciousness, she found that she was naked and being raped.
The man was arrested afterwards. He denied rape and the case was opened in the High Court today (21st).
Defendant Lin Jianfeng, 37 years old, was accused of raping female victim X (now 29 years old) in a unit in Dongning Building, Changsha Bay, on August 29, 2018.
The defendant contacted the victim and said his family wanted to buy insurance
The prosecution's opening statement stated that the female victim X was an insurance broker. In July 2018, the defendant greeted X through WeChat and pointed out that her family was interested in buying insurance, so the two met to discuss insurance matters.
They also agreed to have lunch at a restaurant in Changsha Bay at the end of the month, and the two went to the defendant’s residence after dinner to continue the conversation.
Afterwards, the defendant and X continued to talk through messages. X once asked whether the defendant would take out insurance. The defendant said that he was still considering it, and the two met for the second time on the day of the incident.
The victim became unconscious after drinking beer
On the same day, they met again for lunch and went to the defendant's residence after the meal.
At about 4 pm, X, who was in the room at the time, said he wanted to drink beer. The defendant left the room and returned to the room with a drink about 10 or 20 minutes later.
X chooses a can of beer, but starts to lose consciousness after drinking about half of it.
When she regained consciousness, she found that she was naked and having sex with the defendant.
But she was unable to resist, and the defendant eventually ejaculated in her body.
Sleeping pills detected in the victim's blood sample
The prosecution stated that X was still unsteady when he returned home.
Afterwards, she disclosed the incident to her superiors and went to the hospital to seek medical treatment, and the hospital called the police.
The prosecution continued that sleeping pills were found in X's blood sample.
The defendant was arrested on August 31 of the same year.
The prosecution also stated that although there was no relevant direct evidence, it emphasized that there was sufficient environmental evidence and accused the defendant of applying sleeping pills to X, which made X weak and able to have sexual intercourse with her.
