After almost six months of negotiations, the Verdi union is hoping for a breakthrough in the collective bargaining conflict over Hamburg's wholesale and foreign trade.
Shortly before the fifth round of talks this Friday, Verdi negotiator Heike Lattekamp said, referring to the latest deals in other collective bargaining areas, that these are a good basis for the talks in Hamburg.
Hamburg - "We therefore hope that we will end the collective bargaining conflict and achieve a kill," said Lattekamp on Thursday.
So far, the positions of the corporate association AGA and the union have been far apart.
Verdi is calling for wages and salaries to be increased by 5.5 percent over a period of twelve months for the approximately 60,000 employees.
Employers have proposed a 2 percent increase from December 1, and a further 2 percent increase from August 1, 2022.
According to AGA, the term should be 24 months.
