Kirchheim

- The communities of Aschheim, Feldkirchen and Kirchheim have been discussing the reconstruction of the Heimstettener See for years.

Jens Besenthal, Managing Director of Erholungsflächenverein, and architect Didier Vancutsem presented the plans to the Kirchheim building committee.

The recreation area association wants to take over a million euros to redesign “Fije”. "After a good 30 years, a lot is necessary here," said Besenthal. “We took a very close look at the site and what was going on in the summer.” Most urgent is the south bank, here there is still a toilet system with a septic tank, “that is no longer in keeping with the times. So the first thing we will do is lay a sewer system, then build a modern toilet and a kiosk. ”Besenthal on the north bank is also interested in the revitalization of the football field right next to the restaurant, including a beach volleyball court and a summer curling alley. In addition, he could imagine the closure of Seestrasse for through traffic, from one side only to the parking lot, from the other side to the restaurant."That would have defused a major security problem," said Besenthal.

"It doesn't cost the communities anything"

Construction should start in spring 2022 and everything should be completed by the end of 2025, while construction work should be suspended during the state horticultural show in Kirchheim, because the lake is an important element of the show.

Besenthal: "The association bears the costs of one million euros, it does not cost the communities anything."

Before architect Vancutsem could go into more detail, Mayor Maximilian Böltl (CSU) objected that, from his point of view, the most important thing was a lot of bicycle racks around the lake: “They are totally missing. And we have to find a solution for the ever-growing barbecues. On some days you couldn't see the lake because of the clouds of smoke. ”Vancutsem explained that the lake had developed over the past decades,“ so many trees and bushes were never planned, we have to clear a lot ”. An active zone with a football field, beach volleyball and summer curling alley is to be created in the northern part of the lake. The beer garden is to be significantly larger and the restaurant is to be open all year round. "But that's a matter for the Ayinger brewery, we have no influence on that," remarked Besenthal.Below the beer garden, there are wide lakeside terraces, on the east bank spacious, five-meter-wide and 15-meter-long wooden decks and sunbathing lawns right up to the water, as well as a pebble beach. “On the west bank, we will remove some very large trees in favor of lawns with wide benches,” says Vancutsem. In the south there is a grill area as well as sunbathing lawns, a kiosk and toilet facilities.

Franz Graf (CSU) was enthusiastic about the concept, but asked not to “fell and clear too much.

It would also be nice if changing rooms were built. "The recreation area association manager Besenthal categorically refused, as did showers," then we would be a bathing establishment and would have problems with liability ".
