All four of Olching's fire brigades were present when the flood emergency was practiced.
Olching - As announced by the commander in charge, Josef Gigl (2nd from left), the use of the "Flexibox" protection system was rehearsed.
The aim was to design the individual work processes in such a way that the entire system can be put into operation as quickly as possible.
And that is only possible as a team, everything has to be agreed.
The processes must interlock.
The system consists of five meter long sections.
First filled with air, then with water
These are first filled with air, then they can easily be brought to the place of use and filled there with water.
Wastewater can be used.
When fully erected, the system offers a one meter high protective wall against water masses.
After several hours of intensive instruction and practice, the event ended with a consistently positive résumé, as the fire brigade announced.
It is planned to purchase additional units of the system for area-wide protection.
The costs are already budgeted for in the city.
