SC Freiburg is threatened with the failure of striker Nils Petersen before the Bundesliga game at VfL Wolfsburg and the DFB Cup game in Osnabrück.
The top joker in the Bundesliga had problems with his knee, said coach Christian Streich on Thursday.
"We don't yet know how that will develop either."
Freiburg - In addition to offensive player Roland Sallai, right-back Lukas Kübler, who was recently absent due to an infection, is also questionable.
The Hungarian international Sallai came on as a substitute in the 1-1 draw against RB Leipzig in the second half, but was replaced in the 80th minute because of a blow to the knee.
On Saturday, SC Freiburg, the only Bundesliga club that has not been defeated this season, will be visiting VfL Wolfsburg.
Before the cup game on Tuesday at third division VfL Osnabrück, the team will stay in Lower Saxony, the club said.
