Poing - Creating more landing and feeding places for bees and Co. in Poing: That is the goal of a joint project by the local group Bund Naturschutz (BN) and the municipality of Poing.

The first round will take place on Saturday, October 23, announced the local BN group.

The meeting point is at 9 a.m. at the kindergarten on Seerosenstraße in Poing-Nord.

Continuation is a week later, on October 30th - meeting point also at 9 a.m., then at the bus turning loop at Gruber Straße / Anni-Pickert-Schule.

Poing: Planting takes place on two Saturdays

“Work continues until around 4 p.m., so that as many plant-loving residents as possible have the opportunity to take part for one or more hours,” writes BN spokeswoman Christina Tarnikas. Previous horticultural knowledge is not necessary, employees of the construction depot support the campaign with personnel and are available to the participants with words and deeds, announced Tarnikas. For organizational reasons, please register by email to: poing@bund-naturschutz.de. “But spontaneous participation is also possible,” says the invitation to the campaign. Since gardening tools can only be made available to a limited extent, the BN and the municipality ask you to bring your own equipment such as spades, knee pads and work gloves. In addition, safety vests and, if necessary, a snack and drink. The current hygiene rules apply, informs the BN local group. If you have any questions, you can call (089) 262731177.

Poing is said to bloom in spring

The patron of the campaign with the title “Poing continues to hum!” Is Mayor Thomas Stark.

Christina Tarnikas from the BN local group writes about the goal: By planting the flower bulbs “it should not only be more colorful and beautiful, but also fulfill an important ecological function”.

Just shortly after winter, the food supply for bees, bumblebees and co. Is still very meager: "It is therefore important to plant lots of early bloomers in autumn in order to support the local insect world in springtime when it comes to foraging." Teenagers and adults.
