This Wednesday, the Paraguayan Soccer Association reported through a statement that Guillermo Barros Schelotto has been named the new technical director of the Paraguayan senior soccer team.
His technical assistant will be his brother Gustavo Barros Schelotto.
This new technical staff has immediately taken over the direction of the senior team and their contract will be valid until the end of the Copa América 2024.
Guillermo Barros Schelotto has led three clubs before taking command of the Guaraní team.
He was coach of the Club Atlético Lanús from 2012-2016, moved to Boca Juniors and was in the xeneize club from 2016-2018, in 2019 he made the leap to MLS and was appointed manager of the LA Galaxy, the club where he directed until 2020.
As a coach, he has three titles: with Lanús, the 2012-13 South American Cup;
with Boca Juniors: the 2016-17 First Division Championship and the 2017-18 Super League.
