Eleven hospital directors today (Thursday) criticized the outline of the interns' shifts.

In a letter to Health Minister Nitzan Horowitz, they wrote that "the deadline for the outline, April 2022, is unrealistic and will lead to a compromise on the quality of medical care."

They claim they were not involved in staff work on the outline.

As a result, they stated, "no answers to the questions: how many positions will be allocated to perform layout, format and weekend work interns wages."

Meanwhile, this morning announced that Prof. Yoram Kluger, Chairman surgeons, announced his resignation following the outline.

In his resignation, he attacked Health Minister Horowitz: "We have recently been exposed to a new aspect in the Ministry of Health in which fateful decisions are made - in strange staff work and without consulting department heads."

The Ministry of Health responded to the letter and issued a statement stating that "in recent weeks there have been many consultation talks between hospital administrators and the Minister of Health and the ministry's management regarding the shortening of shifts - and will continue.

The ministry added that next week a team will be set up to implement the outline of shortening shifts, headed by the new deputy director general of the Ministry of Health, Dr. Sefi Mendelovich, and that he will begin work immediately.

The interns returned to them yesterday from their resignation and accepted the outline presented by Health Minister Nitzan Horowitz on Monday. This, after two tumultuous weeks of negotiations between the representatives of the interns and the Ministry of Health and the government regarding the application of the outline also to hospitals in the center of the country and not only in the periphery. "We won and the public won," said Dr. Ray Bitton, leader of the protest, at the end of the meeting with the minister. "We will all

receive

better medicine."

After the agreement was reached, there were voices that shook off the terms of the agreement, the claim that they have no coverage.

This morning, a senior Ministry of Health official was quoted in Walla! The result is that the Ministry of Health promises huge promises of hundreds of millions, which will very quickly turn out to be false promises, since the Treasury does not share them at all and does not intend to stand behind them. "

Later today he was hosted at the Walla!

Finance Minister Avigdor Lieberman, saying that "Horowitz did not close anything" himself with the interns.

"We proposed an outline called 'Periphery First' with Orna Barbibai and Horowitz, and it is important to emphasize that there is no shortage of interns in Tel Hashomer or Ichilov, there is a great shortage in the periphery, Eilat, Nahariya and Safed and we need to take care of them. From a new collective arrangement until then nothing.

Everything else is really a legend. "
