In appreciation of their role in supporting the efforts of the medical sector, Lattakia Governorate honored today a number of civil associations in the governorate that devoted some of their efforts to support medical staff with the increasing needs in hospitals to provide care for those infected with the Coronavirus.
The honoring included Al Areen Foundation, Al-Fawz Associations, Mosaic, Brotherhood, Piety, Charitable Endeavors and Child Care, in addition to the Burial of the Dead Association, which collectively provided a set of needs for health sector hospitals, including oxygen tanks, medicines and cars, in coordination with the Directorates of Social Affairs, Labor and Health.
During the honoring, Governor Ibrahim Khader Al-Salem confirmed that this stage in which the active associations moved from exercising a limited charitable role to development aspects that will reflect positively on the community. The number of people infected with the Corona virus and the increasing needs in terms of securing medicines and oxygen cylinders.”
He affirmed the governorate's readiness to identify the needs of associations to enable them to perform their humanitarian role and to address any defect that obstructs coordination procedures to deliver support to the targeted and needy families.
In a statement to SANA's reporter, Director of Social Affairs and Labor Ammar Ahmed referred to the permanent cooperation and coordination with associations to enhance their efforts in the charitable and development fields.
He explained that the associations secured 6 tanks for oxygen tanks for Al Haffa, Al Watani and Tishreen University Hospitals, as a first stage, to be followed by periodically securing additional quantities and quantities of medicines according to the medical needs required for these hospitals, with ambulances transporting patients and others for burial procedures.
