The Lüneburg Higher Administrative Court has been negotiating the interests of balloonists, boat owners and a yacht club on the Steinhuder Meer since Tuesday.
The 4th Senate will decide on the “Totes Moor” nature reserve ordinance issued by the Hanover region in three standard control procedures.
At its core, it is about conflicts between water sports and nature conservation.
Lüneburg - The regulation refers to an area of 3,179 hectares, which includes areas on the Steinhuder Meer and water areas in the east-northeast area.
On the one hand, organizers of balloon rides want to clarify in court whether requirements for air traffic may be regulated in a nature reserve ordinance.
In the second procedure, the operator of a yacht club is concerned with the ban on sailing on the water surface.
In the third application, an owner of land in the nature reserve is concerned with the general ban on forestry and restrictions that apply to peat extraction.
