The defender of RB Leipzig suffered a muscle injury in his left thigh in the group game of the Champions League at Paris Saint-Germain on Tuesday, as the Saxons announced on Thursday.
According to dpa information, the runner-up is not expected to return before the international break.
Leipzig - Klostermann had to be replaced in the 2: 3 in Paris in the 70th minute.
The 25-year-old sustained the injury in a defensive action shortly before Lionel Messi equalized 2-2.
Coach Jesse Marsch had initially hoped that "it was just a small crack" and that Klostermann would be available again quickly.
