In June, the Greens applied for seven cross parkers modeled on the Copenhagen S-Bahn to be installed in the S-Bahn wagons and for the multi-purpose area to be more family-friendly, so that there is space for cargo bikes and bikes with trailers.
The interests of cyclists are taken into account
In the meantime, the district office has found out that the new generation of S-Bahn trains is already being planned and that the tenders are also running.
The General German Bicycle Club has evidently been able to bring in the interests of the cyclists.
According to the MVV, there should actually be significantly more parking spaces for bicycles in the new wagons.
There will also be space for bulky bikes such as tandems and bikes with trailers in the multi-purpose compartments.

The system is overloaded
However, not all of them wanted to go so far as to abolish the blocking times so that cyclists can also get on their bikes at peak times (workdays from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m. and from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.).
“We are overloading the system,” warned Stefan Schelle (CSU).
