A 44-year-old man was found dead in his car on federal highway 34 in the district of Konstanz.
An employee of the road maintenance department discovered the man's car on Wednesday in a retention basin near Gottmadingen, a police spokeswoman said on Thursday.
When the car was recovered, the man's body was found in it.
