In order to be able to continue driving despite the defect, a trucker disconnected the brake lines of his semitrailer.
Only with the engine brake would it never have come to a stop in a critical situation.
Hohenbrunn
- On Wednesday around 11 p.m., the motorway police stopped a truck near Hohenbrunn.
Fortunately, as the inspection showed: because a defective and thus blocking brake had prevented the driver of the Turkish semitrailer from continuing, he unceremoniously deactivated it by kinking the compressed air brake lines of his semitrailer, which was loaded with ten tons of freight, and tying it off with cable ties the police.
The otherwise technically desolate trailer truck is now being demonstrated at the TÜV.
The driver will be fined at least 180 euros.
The tires are already smoking on an overloaded van
At 17.45, officials at Hohenbrunn had stopped a hopelessly overloaded van.
This was noticed because the rear bumper was almost dragging on the road due to the immense rear-heavy load and the tires on the rear axle were already smoking.
Driver says: everything is OK
At the traffic control, the man from Munich at the wheel indicated that everything was OK because the vehicle was a "three and a half ton" and could therefore also be loaded with 3500 kilos.
However, because his calculation failed to include the fact that around 2100 kilograms of unladen vehicle weight must also be included, the van weighed an impressive 6100 kilograms at a permissible 3100.
At least 325 euros fine
As a result, further travel was prevented.
"A strenuous manual reloading of three tons of cargo to another vehicle had to be carried out and a fine of 352 euros was waived," reports the police.
