Füssen - The new day care center in Weidach has now opened the Arbeiterwohlfahrt together with the city of Füssen.

Füssen - The new day care center in Weidach has now opened the Arbeiterwohlfahrt together with the city of Füssen.

“Hurray, hurray - autumn is here!” The children sang enthusiastically at the opening ceremony of the “Weidach” day-care center last week.

The enthusiasm was not only felt among the children, the joy of the official guests also set the tone in all speeches.

The two pastors Frank Deuring and Peter Neubert blessed the building.

“It's so nice that there is now one more place for many children in Füssen where they can feel comfortable, learn, play, sing and dance, romp around, do handicrafts, sandel, drive the bobby car, and be comforted , climbing, jumping around in the grass - yes, even kneipp and much more. ”With these words, Brigitte Protschka welcomed the guests of honor as chairwoman of the Swabian district presidium and local association chairwoman of the Arbeiterwohlfahrt (AWO).

A huge upgrade

In addition to the day-care center, the family support center of the AWO local association in Füssen-Schwangau is also housed in the building.

According to Protschka, this meeting place and this center for families in Füssen will be enormously upgraded.

The establishment of a family support point in the family forum is a very special sign, because a family support point is not a compulsory task neither for the municipality, i.e. the city of Füssen, nor for the district office and the Ministry of Social Affairs.

She especially thanked the Swabian District Association as well as the Glücksspirale and, last but not least, the city of Füssen, who had made the entire new project possible.

Construction costs of around 5.3 million euros

Mayor Maximilian Eichstetter (CSU) once again outlined the development of the day-care center with an integrated family support point and named some cornerstones of the building. Planning started in 2017. The new construction of the day-care center created around 15 crèche and 75 kindergarten places. The projected construction costs amount to 5.3 million euros, with grants of around 2.22 million euros to be expected. The gross floor area of the building is around 1,800 square meters, the usable area around 2,000 square meters on a site area of around 3,000 square meters.

Silke Scherer, chairman of the AWO child and youth welfare organization, expressed her joy in the fact that the self-image in dealing with children is embedded in a pub-oriented concept and that the basic pillars of order, water, exercise, nutrition and herbs are the framework.

Thus, the development of the children in an appreciative atmosphere offers good prerequisites.

The day care center in Weidach is said to be one of the most beautifully located and tasteful houses of the AWO Schwaben.

Now it is important to liven up the house, whereby the basic requirement is that the children feel comfortable and enjoy coming.

It is now the top priority that the team and the children can settle in and familiarize themselves with their new surroundings.
