The Nicaraguan National Police reported this Thursday the arrest of Michael Healy and Álvaro Vargas, respectively president and vice president of the Superior Council of Private Enterprise (COSEP).
According to a statement from the PN, the arrests are due to an investigation for alleged "laundering of money, property and assets."
COSEP, through a statement, rejected the arrest of the chamber president and reiterated that Michael Heyly has precautionary measures from the IACHR.
We demand the immediate release of our President Michael Healy Lacayo, First Vice President Álvaro Vargas Duarte and former President José Adán Aguerri Chamorro, as well as all political prisoners.
