The police in Brandenburg want to put a stop to the rushes with more technology.
The authority wants to double the number of its modern, alarm-secured so-called enforcement trailers, better known as speed camera trailers.
In the future, each of the four police departments in the country will have two of the self-photographing trailers, said police spokesman Mario Heinemann on Thursday.
Potsdam - There will be a total of 26 speed cameras of different types - including the 8 modern trailers - in the country.
The devices can be parked on the street for days and are battery-operated.
Above all, they are used in particularly accident-prone locations such as motorway construction sites.
Since they do not have to be controlled by hand, they are also less noticeable.
“Speeding is the be-all and end-all in Brandenburg,” said Heinemann.
First the newspaper "Märkische Allgemeine" reported.

The west facade of Cologne Cathedral with the main portal and the two towers will probably be visible for the first time in ten years without scaffolding on Tuesday afternoon.
If the weather cooperates, the approximately 30-meter-high hanging scaffolding that hangs 105 meters above the ground on the north tower will be removed with a crane, the Dombauhütte announced on Monday.
The crane can be extended to a height of 124 meters.

The thunder of cannons at Königstein Fortress attracts many fans
Hobby gunners “ignited” the Königstein Fortress in Saxon Switzerland on Saturday and caused plenty of thunder in the Elbe Valley.
However, only replicated historical guns were used and not the originals on the fortress.
After the spectacle had to be canceled last year due to the corona pandemic, according to the organizers, it attracted a large audience in the best weather.
