Abstract.
On the evening of Thursday, October 14, the result falls.
At the end of an internal vote, Anne Hidalgo, red rose in hand, is officially invested by the activists of the Socialist Party (PS) to be their candidate for the presidential election of 2022.
And this despite a campaign that is struggling to take off, since the mayor of Paris declared herself a candidate in Rouen on Sunday, September 12.
Doubling teachers' salaries, lowering the speed limit on the motorway, lowering fuel taxes… His first proposals did not arouse enthusiasm.
Anne Hidalgo even fell to 5.5% of voting intentions, according to an Ipsos poll published on October 1.
In private, some PS executives already qualify this application as an "industrial accident".
