Damascus-SANA
Actress Safaa Raqmani found on stage a gateway to her return to the audience, overlooking it with a series of performances, the latest of which is the play Maqam Ibrahim and Safia, directed by the able artist Zenati Qudsia for the benefit of the National Theater in Damascus.
Raqmani, who reveals the reasons for her absence from the artistic scene due to “compelling circumstances” that surrounded her, such as the death of her mother, in addition to pregnancy and childbirth, stressing in a statement to SANA that she prefers motherhood to work and the lights of fame.
Raqmani indicated that she is preparing to present the Maqam Ibrahim Safia play, which will be shown this month, indicating that choosing the performed character, a good theatrical script, and loving the work team is a condition of her work on the stage.
These conditions that she adheres to in any theatrical work can explain the lack of her works on stage despite her great love for Abu al-Funun. She has only four works, starting with a party on the stake by Zinati Qudsia, writing Mahfouz Abdel Rahman, and the house of passion for Hisham Kafarneh and execution for Qudsiya as well.
In the same context, Raqmani confirmed her participation in the Baghdad International Festival, which will be held on the 20th of next November, through the theatrical work The House of Passion, which represents the Syrian theater in this international forum.
As for the drama, Raqmani’s return was manifested in two Dafa series written by writer Bassam Makhlouf, directed by Sami Al-Jinadi, and Love Crisis by Amr Ali and directed by Mohamed Nasrallah.
Regarding her participation in the Dafa series, which was produced by the General Organization for Radio and Television Production, Raqmani expressed her admiration for the character of Dr. Farah and the content of the work that calls for spreading love in the crowd of works that dealt with war, stressing that we need in our texts to incite love in society and touch the viewer.
Raqmani believes that the dramatic texts shown on television are “not all good or on the same level,” which is one of the reasons for their sometimes staying away from drama, in addition to “the different pattern of relations between the work team and the producer” from what it was in the past, considering that the real goal of the artist’s participation In work, it is not quantity, but self-satisfaction and satisfaction of the congregation.
