Telephone fraudsters brought an 84-year-old woman in Zwickau for 100,000 euros.
A caller had reported to the senior citizen on Wednesday and claimed that her son had caused a serious accident, the police said on Thursday.
In order to avoid jail time, the person called must deposit a six-figure amount.
Zwickau - The surprised pensioner complied with this request and handed over 100,000 euros in cash to a 40-year-old near her apartment.
Another shock call that day to a pensioner in Zwickau was unsuccessful.
The 96-year-old hung up on the money claim, as it was said.
