After the German Weather Service (DWD) had predicted squalls and severe thunderstorms for Thursday, there have been no weather-related accidents or traffic restrictions in Berlin and Brandenburg in the early morning.

The police and fire brigade announced on Thursday morning.

Berlin / Potsdam - In the course of Thursday, the DWD expected storm gusts for Berlin and Brandenburg at a speed of up to 85 kilometers per hour.

Particularly in the southern half of the countries, there could be occasional heavy gusts of wind at speeds of up to 100 kilometers per hour.

In addition, severe thunderstorms with some gale-force gusts are to be expected locally.

Because of the storm "Ignatz", the DWD had already warned explicitly on Wednesday of falling branches on Thursday and Friday and recommended not to leave the house.
