Support for students: Regensburg awards Dr. Seyboth scholarships

The city of Regensburg has awarded two Dr. Seyboth scholarships. Valerie Wenzel and Fredi Bartel can look forward to the financial support.

Valerie Wenzel and Fredi Bartel can look forward to the financial support. 

Regensburg - Two students from the University of Regensburg can look forward to a Dr. Seyboth scholarship.

On the one hand, the city honored Valerie Wenzel and awarded her a study grant of 2,600 euros.

She is studying molecular medicine and graduated from high school with a grade of 1.3.

"Whether I would like to continue working in leukemia research or would rather go into the field of bioinformatics is not yet certain," said the student after the award, as reported by the city of Regensburg.

The second scholarship of 2,400 euros goes to Fredi Bartel.

Next year he will finish his bachelor's degree in psychology.

It is not yet clear where he would like to do his master’s degree.

He was particularly interested in psycho-oncology.

Later he would like to work in the field of elderly care. 

"Käthe Seyboth would have been proud of how many great students have already been supported with their donation," said Mayor Gertrud Maltz-Schwarzfischer in her laudation.

The Dr.

Seyboth Foundation would like to support students who were born in Regensburg and study at the Regensburg University financially by awarding scholarships and thus ensure equal opportunities.

The aim is for financially weak, gifted students to be able to complete a university degree.
