Since the death of Pina Bausch there have been several changes in the management of the famous Wuppertal dance theater named after her.
The current management duo jumped in in a crisis situation and will stop at the end of the season.
Now there is a new directorship.
Wuppertal - The Tanztheater Wuppertal Pina Bausch gets a new management. The supervisory board of the famous company presents the personnel today. The dance theater is a flagship of the city: The 35-strong company presents the famous works of Pina Bausch, who died in 2009, all over the world and of course at the headquarters. The performances in Wuppertal are regularly sold out.
Bettina Wagner-Bergelt and Roger Christmann are currently the directors of the ensemble.
Both had temporarily taken over the management of the company founded by Pina Bausch in 2018 after a break with the then director Adolphe Binder.
In February, Wagner-Bergelt and Christmann extended their contract by one year in order to be able to show the projects postponed due to the corona pandemic in the 2021/22 season.
In the past few weeks the dancers have been guests in St. Petersburg, Clermont-Ferrand and Ludwigsburg.
