In an "open letter" ten tourism companies have spoken out about Tölz city policy in the bathing area.
Bad Tölz

The city council signaled willingness to compromise in August, however, and received stormy opposition from those affected (we reported).

In addition to the three companies mentioned, the guest house Rosl (Müller family), the house Gut (Gut), the Hotel Leonhardihof (Suttner), the Marienhof (Lukac), the guest house Rosa (Sylvia Glas), the hotel are also protesting in the open letter Schlössl (Sieberer) and the house Sybille (Lyons).
A key statement: You are “a pawn” because the city cannot agree on unused land with the largest landowner in the bathing area (Jod AG, Hoefter).
The result of the dispute are "arbitrary development plans in the smallest of streets, while the overall touristic plan is missing".

The critics attack the city massively, especially when it comes to tourism. While they would have accepted the challenge themselves and “fought generation after generation for tourism and the health resort”, the city would have to “use toilets and a converted military bath” in order to enhance the charisma of Bad Tölz. "The renaissance of the bathing district has failed", they say. While the number of overnight stays is increasing in Bavaria, it would stagnate or decrease slightly in the spa town.
The complainants at the tourist information office do not have a good hair.
“The cooperation has been disturbed for a long time.” The specialist knowledge of the local tourism operators is not integrated into central marketing measures.
"Instead, Bad Tölz relies on external consultants without any local reference." They should then decide on the future of the Tölz family businesses "without any citizen participation".

We fight for the future of our children, ”it continues.
Buchener Strasse is just a small example that could be repeated anywhere in Tölz.
