The activities of the Youth Monodrama Festival, in its third session, kicked off at the National Library in Aleppo today with the theatrical performance “Hebt Sukkar”, which talks about the biography of a young theater actress from the city of Aleppo.
And Muhammad Hijazi, director of the National Library and Director of the National Theater in Aleppo, told SANA reporter that the show written by Muhammad Qaqi expresses a human condition that is a biography of a young theater artist who suffered from diabetes since her childhood, which prevented her from many life matters such as playing, love, marriage and childbearing, but she was able to coexist. With her illness and the realization of her dream of theatrical acting, considering that the idea of the work was embodied in a beautiful artistic way.
The Youth Monodrama Festival, which will continue, according to Hegazy, until the 6th of next month, will witness theatrical performances bearing noble humanitarian messages presented by young people to the serious national theater, expressing social and humanitarian messages and the theater's sublimity and its main goal.
The director of the work, Muhammad Mulqi, noted the audience's interaction with the show and the heroine's suffering with illness and her challenge to him, who was keen to present it in an artistic form.
The young actress, Sulaf Al-Kurz, the heroine of the work, stated that she presented the role with sincere feelings and that she did not act, but rather embodies the details of her life honestly in front of the audience, pointing to the difficulty of the art of monodrama due to the presence of one actor who performs all the characters in the text, which highlights the actor's creativity and strength, which is something tiring and fun at the same time. together.
From the audience, the writer Muhammad Abu Maatouk drew attention to the importance of the Youth Monodrama Festival and the interaction of the large audience during the theatrical performance, which indicates the aesthetic of the play that was able to stir the audience's feelings.
From the audience, Ali Hamada spoke about the predominance of sincere and real feelings for the heroine of the play because she lived the details of the story.
On Saturday, the festival will present the Farewell Night play, written by Joanne Jean, starring Dima Maraani, and directed by Hikmat Akkad.
