A TikTok user recently made an eerie discovery in her motel room.
The find causes goosebumps on social media.
Since Alfred Hitchcock's "Psycho" at the latest, motels have had something sinister about them.
For one TikTok user Addison Cassel, however, it wasn't creaky doors or thin walls that created a scary factor.
Instead, the young woman made a curious discovery under her bed.

Cassel was out with her grandmother when the duo took a room in a motel for one night.
In doing so, they discovered a straight cut in the carpet under their bed and, underneath, a loose board.
As it turned out, there was a

The motel actually only had one floor.
Cassel found it particularly eerie that the room was not only below her room, but apparently led down to the corridor.

In further videos, Cassel reveals a closer look into the hidden room under her bed.
A lot of
cobwebs and dust
can be seen - which reassures some users: "Cobwebs are a good sign, because it means that nobody has been here for a while," writes one user.
Others still shudder: "I may be paranoid, but I would definitely slide the bed over it to keep it closed."

crawl space
in which
pipes and power lines
are
usually
laid. Nothing of this can be seen in the room, so it may have remained unused. In retrospect, she called the motel again to ask about it - the woman on the phone was very rude. She asked a few times why she was interested in the room. In the end, the explanation was simple. “It's only for pipes. Have a nice day. ”Cassel wonders why such a secret is being kept, but didn't investigate any further. For some users, however, it is clear: "Something is strange about it". Some also find it just "creepy" that there is a hidden space under the bed.
