Dr. Kathleen Page, an infectologist and associate professor at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, says that approval of COVID-19 vaccines for minors ages 5 to 11 is vital to controlling the virus and its transmission.

The specialist calls for confidence that if the little ones have a condition such as diabetes or obesity, they will be better protected if they are inoculated.

"Vaccines are safe in all groups," says Dr. Page.
